Police, security push protesters from mining conference
The Chamber of Mines of the Philippines is holding a three-day Mining Conference and Exhibition at the Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City. The event, attended by government officials and representatives of local and foreign mining corporations were apparently oblivious to the barrage of protesters outside the five-star hotel this morning.

In a gesture of 'inter-tribal solidarity', indigneous peoples join in the relief missions for typhoon victims. Dubbed “Lingkod Katribu, Tulong para sa mga Katutubong biktima ng Trahedya,” indigenous peoples organizations along with other groups pool resources to provide relief for 2,000 Dumagat and Remontado peoples affected by the typhoons in Tanay, Rizal. Six indigenous communities in Tanay are barely reached by rescue and relief missions and the overflowed river is making land transportation difficult.
